'description':'
During decent of ROPOS Dive R1845, a bubble plume was detected on the sonar. The plume was followed to the seafloor, with the source at the Bubble 1 site. This area last year was a gently hollow - now it has a small collapse area and two cavities from which significant methane bubbles are emitted. ROPOS documented this area in detail as a possible installation site if Eisntein's Grotto dies re venting. A quick inspection was done on the digital still camera at Einstein's Grotto and the Neptunea snail nursery was imaged. Credit: NSF-OOI/UW/ISS; V15.
',

'description':'
The tool basket was deployed with the broadband seismometer, and the CAT and Mosquito flow meters, and the Osmo fluid sampler. On launching, the CAT jumped the tool sled and fell to the seafloor. The broadband was deployed for follow-on installation, and the Mosquito and Osmo sampler were installed. Push cores were taken and a brief survey found the CAT. It was recovered and is expected to be fine as they are normally deployed by free falling. 'description':'
During this dive at the summit of Southern Hydrate Ridge the junction box LV01B was temporatily deployed ~ 50 m north of a site where the end of a 10 km extension cable will be installed. The actively venting seep Grotto was surveyed for final placement of a digital still camera on a follow-on dive. Grotto was actively venting. The Neptunea snail field was visited briefly. The ROV transited NW to the location of the broadband caisson, and on the way a carbonate rock sample was recovered. Upon reaching the broadband caisson, the ROPOS turned south on a 190° heading for a 500 m long survey of the 10 km cable route. Video credit: NSF-OOI/UW/CSSF; Dive R1765; V14.
',

'description':'
This dive on Southern Hydrate Ridge, was focused on surveying in cable routes. The MJ01B junction box that was deployed will be used as an anchor during a follow-on installation of extension cables for short-period seismometers. The locations for installation of the LV01B and LJ01B junction boxes were surveyed in, and pallet drop site for the Dependable was determined. The dive ended with a survey of all three extension cable routes for the seismometers. One spectacular find, was the discovery of a nursery for Neptunea snails that form yellow egg stalks. Photo credit: NSF-OOI/UW/CSSF; Dive R1758; V14.
',
