Claire Knox

Claire Knox is a senior at the University of Washington working on a B.S. in Oceanography with a Marine Biology minor. She grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, where her academic interests and extracurricular activities gravitated toward all things oceanic. Claire gained valuable knowledge and experience as a participant in VISIONS’13 and is thrilled to be part of the VISIONS’14 team, deploying cutting edge technology in oceanography research while also mentoring first-time students. When not on board the R/V Thompson this summer, she will studying cyanobacteria in a biological oceanography lab. Outside of school, she is a cooking enthusiast, coxswain, knitter, and avid reader.
