Gary Harkins leads the OOI RSN engineering team. He is the Department Head for the Applied Physics Laboratory's Electronic Systems Department, where he manages a team of hardware and software engineers whose expertise includes the design and development of state-of-the-art data collection and data processing systems. The Department's engineers are fully experienced in the handling and field testing of their systems on various U.S. Navy vessels and test ranges. Harkins joined the Laboratory in 1966 and currently works primarily in the development of new programs such as the OOI RSN.
