Hanis Zulaikha

My name is Hanis Zulaikha and I am currently a freshman majoring in Oceanography at University of Washington. I am an international student from Malaysia and where I come from, the ocean and marine life are a major part of our economy, lifestyle, and culture and this determined me to venture into this field of study. This will be my first experience on a research cruise, or on any cruise even, and I am enthusiastic to work alongside the researchers and students from different background and the rest of the cruise team. I am eager to see what this cruise will bring me, I believe it will teach me humility and shape me into a person with better appreciation of nature.
