Humboldt Squid Playing Laser Tag

Charles Garcia produced this video of humboldt squid at a water depth of ~ 290 m. In 2007, the remotely operated vehicle ROPOS captured this video of humboldt squid playing "laser tag" with green lasers emanating from the vehicle. The lasers are used for scale and are 10 cm apart.  The video was taken during a survey at off of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Video Credit: Video credit: UW/CSSF/W.M. Keck.
