Jessie Hild

I am going to enter my 2nd year at UW this coming fall and although I am officially an undeclared major, I am incredibly interested in oceanography, biology, and geology. I am an outdoor enthusiast and I am incredibly captivated by natural processes that occur here on Earth. Humans know very little about the ocean and I am excited to be able to assist in research that will allow us to better understand the processes of the deep ocean. Visions’15 is a fantastic opportunity for me to see if my budding interest in oceanography could lead to a deep passion not only for the science of oceanography but also for oceanographic research. I am excited for the hands-on experience that I will obtain during this opportunity. I am particularly interested in the creation of new seafloor and the rich environments that surround hydrothermal vents.
