Kevin Simans

Kevin Simans graduated from the University of Washington in June 2014, where he completed a BS in Oceanography with a focus in marine geology. His research interests include sediment dynamics and beach processes, which were the foci of his thesis research conducted at Friday Harbor Labs in Spring 2013. He has been on many research cruises within Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and two longer cruises in the Pacific Ocean. He brings a strong mind and body, eagerness to learn, and lots of at-sea experience to the VISIONS ’14 expedition. His other interests include digital photography, mountain biking, and long walks on the beach.
