Marisa Gedney

Marisa is a senior at UW majoring in oceanography with a focus on physics and ocean engineering. Growing up in Florida, water has just always been a natural part of her life in some form or another. She is currently working as a student helper at a seaglider lab within APL (Applied Physics Laboratories), and has been aiding one of her professors with a tidal modeling project for NNMREC (Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center). During the VISIONS’12 cruise, she will be focusing on her senior thesis project to analyze mesoscale eddies and currents around Axial Seamount, but she is also thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the ROV ROPOS.
