Orest Kawka

Orest is a Project Scientist with the OOI Cabled Array program. He is an organic geochemist with a strong background in hydrogeology and sediment geochemistry. As part of the Cabled Array team he is oversees several of the instruments installed on the cabled network, including the in situ mass spectrometer and the bottom pressure-tilt instrument. He is also taking a leading role on testing numerous water column instruments and in conducting CTD casts for instrument verfication and calibration. He is an avid bike rider and skier.
