Sasha Seroy

Sasha Seroy is a graduate student in the Department of Oceanography at the University of Washington.  Sasha's research interests include combining experimental and modeling techniques to understand how ocean acidification influences predator-prey interactions in marine invertebrates.  Sasha has conducted experiments at Friday Harbor Labs to look specifically at acidification effects on inducible defenses in a common calcifying bryozoan.  She also very involved with teaching, served as a teaching assistant for Foundations of Ocean Sensors and has conducted sensor building programs with high school students. Sasha is also an IGERT Program on Ocean Change fellow and has been working with teachers in Micronesia to develop a climate-related learning network as a strategy to facilitate local climate education.
