Trevor Uptain

Trevor Uptain is a sophomore at the University of Washington. He is the President of the UW ROV team, a student-led organization headquartered in the School of Oceanography. Stemming from a lifelong interest in marine technology, he has helped build ten ROVs, two of them at the UW. He has participated in the MATE competition for seven years, and is currently working on his scuba certification. His interests include entrepreneurship, writing, web programming, and social media. A homeschool student, he received a scholarship from the Marine Technology Society to pursue his academic studies. He hopes one day to be part of an engineering-focused company that provides intelligent solutions to underwater technology problems. Trevor is currently employed at the School of Oceanography.
