I am a graduating student from the School of Oceanography at the University of Washington. I came to UW from Sammamish, Washington where I grew up with an appreciation for nature and a sense for exploration. Two years ago I participated in the VISIONS’11 Cruise, where my project mapped lava flow morphology. I learned so much from the cruise and am pleased to be part of the Ocean Observatories Initiative again. Earlier this year, my senior thesis investigated the distribution and origin of particulate organic carbon within a temperate fjord of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I am mainly interested in the geochemistry and geology aspects of oceanography and look forward to be once again exploring the seafloor through the use of ROPOS. Outside of academics I enjoy hiking, bike rides, and exploring new places.
