VISIONS '05 Expedition

In September 2005, John Delaney and Deborah Kelley, also a Professor of Oceanography at the University of Washington, were co-chief scientists of the VISIONS '05 research expedition to the volcanoes of the Northeast Pacific.

In collaboration with UWTV and the ResearchChannel, Delaney and Kelley successfully broadcast across the world the first-ever live, high-definition video from the seafloor. Scientists, educators, and the general public viewed the real-time broadcasts over cable and satellite television and on the web via the ResearchChannel.
